2025 Wrap
It’s been another busy year for the XBert team, with a strong focus on adding new data to monitor and creating more flexible ways to plan and manage work.
Many of these improvements were delivered directly in response to your feedback and requests, helping you gain clearer oversight and reduce manual effort across your practice.
How did Custom XBerts improve in 2025?
Custom XBerts received continuous upgrades throughout the year. We focused on expanding the data available so you can create the alerts and checks that matter most to your firm.
To support managers, we introduced Tasks and time data, helping teams better manage capacity and understand how work is being delivered.
Where data has not been available directly from accounting software, the XBert team has worked to derive it from existing data. We actively monitor prompt requests and successful Custom XBert creation patterns and respond quickly when gaps are identified.

What types of custom XBerts are our users creating the most?
As a community, you created thousands of Custom XBerts during 2025, covering a wide range of practical use cases.
Across Balance Sheet, Bill, and Invoice data alone:
- 232 different Balance Sheet XBerts were created
- Over 500 Bill XBerts were built
- Around 200 Invoice XBerts were created, from invoice checks to exception monitoring
Since adding Work data, 239 different types of Custom XBerts have already been created. These are being used to monitor time spent on tasks, identify over-estimated time, flag tasks completed without time recorded, and more. We love that Custom XBerts are being used every day to automate checks, provide insights, and return valuable time to your team.
How have work boards evolved in 2025? Kanban style work boards
We listened closely to your feedback throughout the year, and one of the most impactful improvements has been the evolution of Work Boards.
Weekly, Status, Process, Assigned, and Timeflow Boards are now widely used across the platform, providing flexible ways to plan, track, and manage work. These views continue to be refined based on how you use them in practice.

What’s new in Timeflow in 2025?
Timeflow received focused improvements during November to support clearer capacity planning and task visibility.
Updates include a complete capacity overhaul, clearer display of Start–Due timelines, improved due-date visibility, new Calendar Reminder options, and quick links to active tasks. These enhancements make it easier to understand workload, priorities, and deadlines at a glance.

What have clients had to say in 2025?
Client feedback continues to show the real-world impact of structured workflows and proactive monitoring.
“We aim to finish BAS reports three weeks early. XBert makes that possible, and clients love it.”
Sumith Dissanayake, Brisca
“Before XBert, the idea of managing 100 clients felt out of reach. Now, I know I’ve got the systems in place to scale confidently when the time comes.”
Renae Petersen, CloudMind Accounts
“My favourite Custom XBert is the net profit percentage drop. It lets me call clients before they even know there’s a problem.”
Katie Williams, The Vault Bookkeeping

What’s happening with the XI Agent Layer?
We’re closing in on the release of a major new layer, often referred to as XI 2.0.
You’ll be able to ask a question and receive instant answers from across all your data, including clients, tasks, workflows, and more, all in one place.
Agents will handle repetitive work in the background, under your control. Every action they take will be tracked with clear notes, audit trails, and evidence, so you always know what was done, when, and why.
Agents are designed to fit into how your team already works, connecting with your other practice applications to capture context without disruption. You’ll also be able to customise agents to match your workflows, standards, and checks.
What’s the update on Receipt Capture and Reconciliation?
Over recent months, receipt capture has been in beta alongside exploration into automated bank reconciliation. We’ve made the decision to delay a standalone release and instead integrate these capabilities into the XI Agent Layer.
By bringing document ingestion and reconciliation into the agent architecture, we can deliver stronger context awareness, smoother hand-offs between tasks, and the ability to chain actions together as part of broader client workflows.
This approach has adjusted our original timeline, but it allows us to build a foundation that scales with the technology rather than releasing something that would need rebuilding in the near future.
We remain committed to delivering end-to-end document ingestion and client workflows through a more powerful multi-agent approach.
Thank you for being part of the XBert community
Thank you again for your support throughout 2025.
We look forward to continuing the journey with you in 2026.
